Dokka Fasteners Inc. is proud to announce our Quality lab’s A2LA/ISO-17025 accreditation, which became effective in July 2012.

The American Association for Laboratory Accreditation (A2LA) is a nonprofit, non-governmental, public service, membership society. Laboratory accreditation is based on internationally accepted criteria for competence (ISO/IEC 17025:2005).

Accreditation is defined as a procedure by which an authoritative body gives formal recognition that a laboratory is competent to perform specific tasks. Lab accreditation recognizes a lab’s technical capability and is usually specific for tests of the systems, products, components, or materials for which the lab claims proficiency. Accreditation allows a lab to determine whether it is performing its work correctly and according to appropriate standards. This does not guarantee that a given analytical result is correct, but it does establish standards that must be met and a framework approach to detect nonconformities when they occur. Good labs will have defensible results, but accreditation means that the results are defensible to a recognized standard that does not change when lab personnel or circumstances change.

The path to accreditation can take several years for most organizations, however, at Dokka Fasteners we developed the systems and all related technical competencies in an assertive focused timeline that could be considered a world record. “Yes it was extremely fast; however, we had a mission to meet specific customer demands that required A2LA accreditation. I am very proud of my quality team, who worked endless hours to meet this key objective. Their commitment to the organizational goals are recognized and appreciated.” commented Rob Girdley, Dokka’s Director of Quality. Dokka’s Quality Laboratory can now be considered world class for the Wind/Energy Fastener Industry.
